Are these electricians screened? How can I be ensured that they are reputable and wont just run away with my money?

The dangers of sites that "screen" or "prescreen" contractors is that it sets up a false expectation.
If you're told a particular electrician is screened, you might not check for a valid license, insurance, or any of the references because you think the work has already been done for you.
We suggest that every homeowner always checks on the requirements in his or her state. Ask to see the license and insurance. Do your due diligence to make sure no one runs off with your money!
